Afarak Group Plc engages in chrome mining and the production of minerals. It operates through two segments: FerroAlloys and Specialty Alloys. The FerroAlloys segment consists of the processing plant Mogale Alloys, Vlakpoort mine and the joint ventures, the Stellite mine and the Mecklenburg mine in South Africa and it also produces chrome ore, charge chrome, medium carbon ferrochrome, and silicomanganese for sale to global markets. The Specialty Alloys segment comprises of Türk Maadin Sirketi A.S, the mining and beneficiation operation in Turkey, and Elektrowerk Weisweiler GmbH, the chromite concentrate processing plant in Germany. Afarak Group was founded on December 31, 1984 and is headquartered in Helsinki, Finland.
